Ellis Island and Medal of Honour
Mr. Howard Li was selected to receive Ellis Island Medal of Honor. The medal is presented to outstanding American citizens from all walks of life who have distinguished themselves among their specific ethnic groups. Past Ellis Island Medal of Honor recipients have included six U.S. Presidents and many Senators, such as George Bush, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, Hillary Rodham Clinton, Gerald Ford, Richard Nixon, John McCain, and George Pataki. The recipients are read into the congressional record.
President's Volunteer Service Award
Mr. Howard Li was awarded the the President’s Volunteer Service Award by President Barack Obama, recognising the time and contribution he has given over his lifetime to the Asian-American and community at large.
U.S. Department of Commerce MBDA National Director's Pioneer Award
Mr.Howard Li was selected by US Department of Commerce (MBDA) to receive this prestigious Award in recognition as an individual whose leadership has helped lay the foundation for the development of new and emerging market business endeavors for minority enterprises. The Award also honors his commitment to socio-economic and entrepreneurial growth.
National Minority Enterprise Development (MED) Week 2002-2008 Appreciation Award
U.S. Department of Commerce’s Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) sincerely thanked Mr. Li for his support and interest in promoting the growth of minority-owned businesses as Co-Chair of MED Week Conference.
International Leadership Award
Mr. Li was presented an International Leadership Award in recognition of his great achievements by the Secretary of Labor, the Honorable Elaine L. Chao, and the Secretary of Transportation, Norman Y. Mineta, from the International Leadership Foundation.
Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award Finalist
Mr. Howard Li was selected as a finalist of New York City’s and New Jersey’s Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of The Year for 2001 and 2002. This is a prestigious honor for the most successful and innovative entrepreneurs and award for business leaders. The program was founded and produced by Ernst & Young, sponsored by CNN, Nasdaq, USA Today, Citigroup, Marsh, Kauffman Center, Scherzer & CO. and Business Now.

In March 9 2005, US Department of Commerce, the minority Buisness Development Agency (MBDA) appointed Mr. Li as Chair of National Minority Enterprise Development (MED) Week Conference, Mr. Li is the first Asian American in 23 years to lead the conference. Since 1983 the president of United States has proclaimed National MED week organized by MBDA-SBA in Washington D.C. which provides a unique forum to address the major issues affecting the growth and development of MBES.

New York State and Local Retirement System
Former Member of Comptroller's Advisory Council
The New York State and Local Retirement System provides coverage in the form of service retirement to police, fire-fighters, teachers, sheriffs and other public servants. The Common Retirement Fund is valued at over $176.8 billion (as of March 31, 2014). In April 2003, the New York State and Local retirement system chose Mr Li among various leaders in government, finance and business as one of the 23 outstanding individuals selected to be on the Comptroller’s Advisory Council.
